Athalia Laksmidewi
Athalia Laksmidewi is an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia. She is interested in gender equality, social inclusion, and public policy, particularly in understanding how policies can create safer, more equitable, and accessible spaces for everyone.
She enjoys learning about a wide range of social issues, including disability inclusion, human rights, and community empowerment. She believes that listening to different perspectives and experiences is an important part of creating meaningful change.
For the past two years, Athalia has been actively involved in building the Department of Women’s Empowerment within the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia. Through this role, she helped establish a sexual violence reporting channel to provide a safer and more supportive environment for students. She also initiated and organized educational programs focusing on women’s reproductive health, gender equality, gender-based violence prevention, and gender well-being, aiming to foster awareness and encourage more inclusive campus discussions.
Through her internship at REMISI, Athalia hopes to deepen her understanding of these issues while contributing to research and initiatives that promote equality, inclusion, and social justice.
