Shortly About Me

A. Intan P. S. Noerijasentana, is a law graduate, writer, researcher, and human rights advocate working at the intersection of disability justice, gender equality, and legal reform in Indonesia. As a person with a psychosocial disability, she brings both lived-experience and academic grounding to her advocacy, spanning movement writing, legal analysis, and institutional work, with a consistent thread: making rights frameworks legible, accountable, and transformative.

Intan serves as Research & Advocacy Staff at REMISI, where her work centers on the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities, advancing deinstitutionalization, challenging substituted decision-making, and building rights-based alternatives rooted in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Her advocacy operates at the legislative level, engaging Indonesia’s lawmakers and policymakers through written submissions and expert input on psychosocial disability law and policy, with particular focus on its intersections with women’s rights and civil law. This includes critical engagement with the Civil Code’s curatele (guardianship) provisions and other law related issues including health regulations as violations of the right to legal capacity and community inclusion under CRPD Articles 12 and 19.

Intan also has contributed to international human rights processes including OHCHR consultations, UNFPA consultations, and CRPD capacity development programs across the Asia-Pacific, including the 2025 Training on Capacity Development for Young Leaders of Women with Disabilities in Bangkok, organized by the Asia Pacific Disabled Peoples’ Organizations Assembly.
