Nurul Safitri is a general practitioner and a woman with a psychosocial disability who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017. Her mental health and psychosocial condition has not prevented her from remaining productive in her professional work and contributing to society, particularly in the areas of mental health and psychosocial disability. Nurul joined REMISI in July 2021 and is currently active as its Chief Executive.

As one of the doctors who speaks openly about mental health issues in public, Nurul has also been actively involved in the preparation of various alternative reports for UN CEDAW and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), with a focus on women and young people with psychosocial disabilities. Through advocacy, writing, and public campaigning, Nurul contributes to promoting mental health issues and strengthening public understanding of the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities in line with the principles of the CRPD.
